State Police Calls: DUI, Theft, Custody Interference

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Sugarcreek Borough

Around 1:00 a.m. on April 17, a DUI arrest was made on State Route 8, north of the intersection with Gibb Road, in Sugarcreek Borough.

A known, 49-year-old Franklin man was stopped for a traffic violation at the above described location and was subsequently arrested for DUI.

DUI and related charges are pending.

The name of the suspect was not released.

No other information was provided.

Retail Theft in Cranberry Township

A retail theft occurred around 5:02 p.m. on May 3 at Walmart located at 10 Kimberly Lane, in Cranberry Township.

Police say 63-year-old Daniel Bruce Hovis allegedly “removed three perennial flower plants and one bag of potting soil from the garden section of Walmart without paying the full retail value for the items.”

According to police, Hovis will face charges of retail theft through District Court 28-3-04.

Interference with Custody of Children in Plum Township

Around 8:00 p.m. on April 19, a known individual violated a court order governing the custody of a known juvenile.

The incident occurred on State Route 27 (Meadville Road), in Plum Township.

No charges are pending at this time.

The name of the suspect was not released.
