State Police Calls: Theft at TA, Criminal Mischief, DUI

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Theft at Truck Stop

Franklin-based State Police investigated a theft at the TA truck stop along Route 8 in Barkeyville, Venango County, on February 10.

According to police, a 47-year-old man parked his truck and went inside the restaurant.

When he returned to his truck, he discovered that it had been broken into, and tools were stolen.

Criminal Mischief in Cherrytree Township

Franklin-based State Police investigated a case in which an unknown person damaged a 66-year-old man’s 1976 John Deere, Model 2030 by pouring an unknown substance into the engine sometime between April 5, 2017, and July 17, 2017, at a location along Cherrytree Road in Cherrytree Township, Venango County.

The damage exceeded $3400.00.

Suspected DUI in Rousville

Around 2:47 a.m. on Sunday, February 11, a known 21-year-old man was pulled over for a traffic violation in the 400 block of Route 8 in Rouseville Borough, Venango County.

Upon further investigation, the driver was suspected of driving under the influence and was taken to UPMC Northwest for testing.

DUI and related charges will be filed pending test results.

Harassment in Clintonville

On Friday, February 9, State Police investigated an incident at a location on Butler Street in Clintonville, Venango County, in which two known males engaged in a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Neither party was seriously injured.
