State Police Calls: Thefts, Drug Arrest

VENANGO CO., Pa. – Franklin-based State Police responded to the following incidents:

Retail Theft in Cooperstown Borough

State Police say a retail theft occurred around 7:23 p.m. on September 25, at Two Mile County Store on Route 417 in Cooperstown Borough.

Austin Michael Goodman, of Oil City, was allegedly caught on video removing glass smoking pipes from a display case at Two Mile County Store.

Goodman was arrested for retail theft. Charges will be filed at Magistrate Fish’s office in Oil City.

Theft in Cornplanter Township

State Police responded to a theft incident that occurred around 7 p.m. on September 21, at a location on Congress Drive in Cornplanter Township.

According to police, an unknown patron stole “adult-type items” that were offered for sale at a Pure Romance party on Congress Drive.

The female victim related that the unknown patron took the items and left following the conclusion of the party.

The investigation is ongoing.

Drug Arrest in Cranberry Township

According to State Police, an drug arrest occurred around 6:05 a.m. on September 21, outside a location on Apple Street (Orchard Park) in Cranberry Township.

Police were dispatched to a location on Apple Street for a report of an unknown man standing in a yard. Upon police arrival, the man was gone, but there reportedly were fresh tracks in the grass. Police followed the tracks and located the man standing on a nearby porch.

Police identified the man as Dillon James Monks, 22, of Franklin, and reported that he appeared to be highly intoxicated.

Monks was taken into custody for public intoxication and was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana.

A criminal complaint is to be filed with District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey charging Monks with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.
