State Police Investigating Barkeyville Truck Fire

BARKEYVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police are investigating a truck fire that broke out Sunday evening in Barkeyville.

Around 6:30 p.m., Clintonville Volunter Fire Department was dispatched to Hawbaker Industrial Park, near Truck Stops of America, for a report of a truck fire.

Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Gerry Rea says the truck that caught on fire was parked in a gated area on the property.

Firefighters cut the padlock and quickly extinguished the fire. The scene was cleared around 7:30 p.m.

Rea says the cause of the fire remains a mystery at this point.

“Both gates were padlocked and the truck had not been moved for about two days,” said Rea.

The fire remains under investigation.

The truck is a total loss.

No injuries were report.
