State Police Investigating Hit and Run Crash on Route 322

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a hit and run crash occurred early Saturday morning on U.S. 322, in Venango County.

Police say this crash happened on Route 322, west of Whipperwill Road around 3:02 a.m. as a 2010 black Kia Forte lost control while negotiating a curve in the roadway. The vehicle rolled an unknown number of times and came to a final rest on its driver’s side facing south. The vehicle was partially blocking the eastbound lane.

According to police, “the driver (32-year-old Kevin Scott VanWormer, of Cranberry) fled the scene on foot,” according to police.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, Franklin Police Department, and Jeff’s Auto Service assisted at the scene.
