State Police Investigating Retail Thefts in Cranberry Township

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police are investigating the following retail theft cases:

Retail Theft on April 3

Around 11:19 p.m., on Monday, April 3, 41-year-old Peter Alexi Salata, of Franklin, entered Walmart with a single plastic bag.

According to police, Salata was later observed on video with two plastic bags. He went to the customer service desk where he returned stolen items without a receipt.

Police say Salata was given a Walmart gift card for the items returned; he then continued to shop. He checked out and paid for his items with the gift card that was issued to him for the stolen items.

The total value of the stolen items was $90.57.

Charges of retail theft and theft by deception are pending.

Retail Theft on April 12

Police say 18-year-old Rebecca Graham, of Reno, and 18-year-old Haley Bean, of Franklin, are accused of shoplifting at 5:21 p.m., on Wednesday, April 12.

According to police the teens placed numerous items in a shopping bag and tried to leave the store without paying for them.

Loss Prevention employees stopped both females after they were seen failing to pay for the items, valued at $100.24.
