State Police Issue Sex Offender Notice in Oil City

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Pennsylvania State Police have released a Megan’s Law Alert notifying residents that a registered sex offender has reported an address in Oil City.

According to the PA State Megan’s Law website, Van Edward Johann has reported a residence at 114 Traction Street, Oil City, Venango County, Pa.

Johann is 61 years old, white, approximately 225 pounds, 5’9″, with brown hair and brown eyes.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Johann was convicted on July 29, 1992, of the following offenses:

– Rape
– Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse
– Aggravated Indecent Assault

Johann’s Megan Law registration began on November 24, 2006.

The registration was last updated on August 20, 2017.

Johann is not wanted by police.

He is registered as a Tier 3 sex offender, which requires a lifetime registration.
