State Police Respond to Collision in Frenchcreek Township

FRENCHCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police responded to a crash that occurred on State Route 62 in Frenchcreek Township late Thursday night.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 20-year-old Jordan E. Pennington, of Oil City, was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, traveling west on State Route 62 near the intersection with Georgetown Road in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County.

Police say just as Pennington passed the intersection of State Route 62 and Georgetown Road, a deer ran out from the north side of the roadway. Pennington’s vehicle struck the deer and stopped in the westbound lane, as the airbags in the vehicle deployed.

Pennington was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Sandycreek Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
