State Police Respond to Hit-and-Run on Route 38

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — State police responded to a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning on State Route 38, in Richland Township.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 5:47 a.m. on Sunday, January 6, a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling south on Route 38 near the intersection of Myers Hill Road, in Richland Township, Venango County.

The vehicle was negotiating a left curve in the roadway, and, for unknown reasons, the vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway into a ditch. It traveling along the ditch for approximately 50 feet before it came to a final rest.

According to police, “the driver then fled the scene in a cowardly manner and failed to notify police as required by law.”

It is unknown whether the driver was injured in the crash.

State police were assisted at the scene by Venango Towing.
