State Police Respond to Vehicle Accidents in Sugarcreek Borough

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, the following crashes occurred in Sugargreek Borough, Venango County:

23-Year-Old Oil City Man Escapes Injury After Vehicle Rolls onto Roof in Sugarcreek Borough

Police say a one-vehicle crash involving Todd A. Wilson, 23, of Oil City, occurred November 22 around 12:15 p.m. in Sugarcreek Borough.

According to police, Wilson lost traction on the icy road surface in his 2007 Toyota Corolla as he was traveling on Meadville Pike approximately 100 feet west of Sugarcreek Drive.

The vehicle traveled of the north berm of the roadway, struck a ditch, and rolled over onto its roof.

Wilson was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury in the crash.

Oil City Man and Four Passengers Avoid Injury in One-Vehicle Sugarcreek Borough Crash

According to police, a one-vehicle crash was caused by slushy roads at approximately 1:34 p.m. November 22, in Sugarcreek Borough.

Police say the crash occurred as Richard E. Williams, 59, of Oil City, was traveling on Rocky Grove Avenue in a 2009 Ford Focus.

Police say Williams drifted onto the shoulder of the road and into slush.

The vehicle’s tires lost traction in the slush, causing it to fishtail and leave the east berm of the roadway.

After traveling off of the roadway, Williams’ vehicle struck a culvert with the driver’s front wheel and came to a rest facing west in a driveway.

Williams and his passenger — Catherine A. Williams, 60, of Oil City — were wearing seat belts and escaped injury in the crash.

Additionally, three juvenile passengers — two females, of Oil City, and one male, of Franklin — were all secured with safety belts and also avoided injury.

State Police Investigate Hit-and-Run Collision in Sugarcreek Borough

Franklin-based State Police say a hit-and-run accident occurred on November 23 at approximately 6:15 p.m., in Sugarcreek Borough.

The crash occurred as an unknown driver drove down a driveway on Sugarcreek Road, continued along the railroad tracks, and struck a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was legally parked outside a residence on Causeway Drive.

Police say suspect then left the scene.

The suspect was driving a GMC vehicle of an unknown year and model.
