State Police Still Searching for Seneca Man After Nearly Two Years Missing

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) – State Police in Franklin are continuing their search for a Venango County man who was reported missing nearly two years ago.

According to police, on June 29, 2017, 33-year-old William J. Ward, of Seneca, was reported missing by his mother and girlfriend.

Police say during the afternoon hours of June 28, 2017, Ward was in the area of Steadman Road, Troy Township, Crawford County. Ward reportedly contacted numerous acquaintances via a cell phone attempting to arrange a ride and transportation from the Walmart in Titusville. His was last seen walking east on State Route 408 towards Hydetown Borough, Crawford County.

According to police, Ward’s vehicle, a late model dark-colored Dodge Durango, was located on Steadman Road. Search efforts conducted by the state police, volunteers, and Ward’s family have produced limited results. Information derived from the investigation revealed Ward never arrived at Walmart.

Police note Ward had an existing medical condition and was without his medications at the time he went missing.

“This factor that may have contributed to Ward behaving erratically and possessing numerous odd characteristics when coming in contact with people,” according to police.

Ward is described as a white male, 33 years of age, approximately 5’10”, 160 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. He has two tattoos: a tribal green and blue tattoo located on his right upper bicep and the numbers “7.3.14” in blue ink on his left wrist.

Ward was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and had a camouflage backpack.
