State Police to Host 4th Annual Sunny Day Camp on September 24

UNION CITY, Pa. – Erie-based Pennsylvania State Police are hosting their 4th annual Sunny Day Camp on Saturday, September 24, at Union City Jr./Sr. High School.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the camp will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.

This one-day event is an inclusive camp open to any child or adult of special needs who resides in the Troop E area of Erie, Crawford, Warren, and Venango Counties.

The program was designed so that no one would be excluded from learning about the law enforcement agencies serving their communities.

Morning activities include light refreshments and static displays of first responder vehicles, followed by lunch. Afternoon activities include a variety of games and activities for participants to freely choose.

A t-shirt is also provided to each participant.

During the closing ceremony, troopers will present certificates to the attendees. The day will conclude with music and t-shirt signing during which troopers, volunteers, and fellow participants can sign shirts and take pictures to commemorate the day.

This camp is free and is funded by donations under the non-profit organization Boosters of Camp Cadet. All participants must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver for the duration of the day.
