MERCER, Pa. (EYT) — A Stoneboro man accused in a string of burglaries in Mercer and Venango counties has pleaded to four counts of burglary in Mercer County Court.

According to online court documents, Daniel P. Hartman, 31, of Stoneboro, pleaded no contest to four counts of burglary that covers 10 alleged burglaries in Mercer County and one in Venango County.

According to a published article in The Herald, Hartman could have been sentenced to as much as 10 years on each count, but the county prosecutor said the Commonwealth will not oppose concurrent sentences.

Sentencing is set for March 28 in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

Hartman has done time for burglary in the past.

Hartman served more than three years in prison for a prior guilty plea to burglary that he committed in 2011.

Hartman was granted parole on September 2, 2015, but it wasn’t long before he was back in trouble with the law.

In Venango County, Hartman was accused in June 2016 for a burglary in Frenchcreek Township.

According to a previous story on explorevenango.com, State Trooper Seybert met with a known man at his residence.

The known man advised Trooper Seybert that $9,000.00 in cash, a brown metal lock box, medications, a .44 Magnum Smith & Wesson revolver, a Beretta .22 cal semiautomatic pistol, a Chinese 7.62×25 caliber revolver, and 20 cartons of Seneca brand cigarettes had been stolen from his residence.

Trooper Seybert observed the broken door window and surveillance video footage “that captured a mini-van arriving at the residence, and a man exiting the driver’s seat.

The surveillance then shows the male returning to the van carrying items which he places in the van. The male then leaves the scene,” the complaint states.

The victim told Trooper Seybert that he believes the perpetrator to be Daniel Paul Hartman, the complaint continues.

On July 1, Trooper Seybert obtained information that Daniel Hartman had been arrested in Ohio and had some of the items in his possession. The items were returned to the victim, the complaint indicates.
