Sugarcreek Borough Police Food Drive Raises $1250

| October 31, 2017

SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) — The Sugarcreek Borough Police Department held a food drive on Saturday afternoon at the Cranberry Walmart.

“Our goal was to fill one of the police cruisers with non-perishable food items as well as personal care items,” Sugarcreek Police Lt. Ryan Ashbaugh said. “We ended up filling two cruisers!”

Asbaugh estimated that there was more than $1,250.00 worth of items that were donated to the drive.

All items will be donated to Community Services of Venango County who are celebrating 50 years of service.

“With the cold rainy weather, I didn’t think the drive would be very successful. I am proud to be part of such a great community,” Ashbaugh said.  “The members of the Sugarcreek Police Department were just collecting the food and other items. It was the residents of Venango County that made this such a great success and we thank you all.”
