Sugarcreek Police Capture Wanted Man

SUGAR CREEK, Pa. (EYT) — Sugarcreek Borough Police apprehended a wanted Oil City man on Thursday.

Chief Matt Carlson was following up on a harassment complaint Thursday morning in the 100 block of Rocky Grove Avenue when Michael J. Watterson, 34, fled the scene.

Watterson was found hiding a short distance from the initial contact and arrested.

He was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Patrick Lowrey and transported to the Venango County Jail.

Watterson is being held without bail and escape charges related to a September 27 incident are pending.

He is also facing charges of retail theft, driving without a license, driving without registration and driving on a suspended license.

He faces a preliminary hearing on October 4.
