SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a 22-year-old woman who has been accused of burglarizing her mother’s Allegheny Avenue home.
According to court documents, on Tuesday, August 29, the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 22-year-old Hayley M. Haire, of Venus.
According to the criminal complaint, on May 25, Patrolman Matt Johnson, of the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department responded to an Allegheny Avenue residence and spoke with the homeowner who stated that she believed her daughter, Hayley Haire, had broken into her house since she had recently broken in the other window on the front porch.
The homeowner reported that an orange Rachel Ray cooking set and 10 cartons of cigarettes had been taken, the complaint states.
When Patrolman Johnson photographed the scene, he saw fingerprints on the broken glass, and Franklin-based State Police are processing the prints, the complaint indicates.
Later on that day, Haire was texting with a known individual who reported that Haire said she had a complete Rachel Ray cooking set for sale, according to the complaint.
The known individual met Haire at the post office in Reno, near the house that had been burglarized. The known individual bought the cooking set from Haire for $50.00 and said there were items missing from the set. Haire said she would go get them. She left but didn’t return, the complaint states.
Also, the woman and her friend contacted Haire on Facebook about the cigarettes she was selling. Haire agreed to meet them in the Giant Eagle parking lot in Oil City. Once there, the two women took photos and videos of Haire and an unknown female. The video showed Haire talking about the missing items from the cookware set. When Haire was confronted about it, she left the area in a vehicle, the complaint continues.
The women turned in the incomplete cookware set, photos, and video to Patrolman Johnson on May 29, the complaint states.
Patrolman Johnson contacted Haire on Facebook and asked her to come in for an interview, but she stated that she couldn’t and hasn’t responded since. Haire allegedly admitted to breaking into the bathroom window to retrieve her items but didn’t specify a date or time, according to the complaint.
