CRANBERRY, Pa. (EYT) – Taco Bell is in the planning stages of opening a restaurant in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Venango County Planning Commission Planner Jason Ruggiero says the restaurant will be located in the outparcel surrounding the Cranberry Mall, between Northwest Savings Bank and Aldi Grocery Store.

Ruggiero says plans have been resubmitted with changes, but have not yet been approved.

“They are hoping to have the plans approved by August,” Ruggiero told exploreVenango.com.

Taco Bell, based in Irvine, California, serves more than 2 billion customers each year in more than 6,500 restaurants, mostly in the U.S., more than 80 percent of which are owned and operated by independent franchisees.

The company has multiple locations in the region, including restaurants in Clarion, Greenville, Hermitage, New Castle, and Butler.
