CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — The Cranberry Township Supervisors approved the transfer of a liquor license to the Sheetz Store.

Township manager Chad Findlay confirmed the decision on Friday. This means the convenience store, located at the intersection of Routes 322 and 257, will soon be allowed to sell beer and wine.

According to a previously-published article on exploreVenango.com, the store had a winning bid of $45,000.00 for the license in a state Liquor Control Board auction earlier this year. The auction was for expired or revoked licenses.

Sheetz, which was founded in 1952, is based in Altoona. It has more than 250 stores in Pennsylvania and 30 have liquor licenses. An additional 30 are waiting on state LCB approval to be licensed.

The Cranberry Sheetz was built in 1998.
