Sandycreek Township VFD Receives $10k Grant

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Sandycreek Township VFD has announced that they are the recipient of a $10,009 Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

This highly competitive nationwide grant program provides grants for training, equipment, vehicles, and station construction.

The grant will be used to buy training programs, audio-visual equipment, curriculum, and test site fees to certify approximately nine firefighters to the National Fire Protection Association Firefighter I level.

It will also allow Sandycreek Township VFD to upgrade the mobile radios in three of their trucks, and purchase an Automated External Defibrillator.

The department stated via a post on their Facebook page, “A big THANK YOU goes out to our Long-Range Planning and Grants Committee members for their hard work in getting this grant!”
