FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – The Franklin Fine Arts Council will sponsor the 8th Annual Taste of Talent Vocal Competition this summer at Bandstand Park in downtown Franklin.

The competition is open to individual soloists ages 16 and older.

Audition packets may be submitted through the beginning of May.

Competitions will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, including June 28, July 5, 12, 19, and 26.

The semi-finals will take place at 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 5, and the finals will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 6, immediately following Taste of Franklin.

The winner of the competition will receive $1,000.00 sponsored by Lamb & Webster.

Prize money totaling $200.00 ($100.00 cash and $100.00 in Franklin Retail Gift Certificate) will be awarded to the three semi-finalists.

The Taste of Talent competition has been a huge success with audiences of 800 to 1,400.

Competitors are quite popular and in demand in performing venues.

The application and non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 must be submitted by May 12.

Twelve contestants will be chosen.
