Teen Crashes Car On Snow-Covered Route 417

OAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A teen avoided injuries after crashing on a snow-covered road late Sunday night in Oakland Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, Jocelyn J. Courtney, 18, of Russell, Pa., was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus south on Route 417 around 11:37 p.m. when the vehicle slid on the snow-covered road and crossed over the roadway where it struck a guide rail.

While trying to regain control, Courtney traveled about 500 feet before crashing into a ditch.

Courtney was wearing a seat belt and wasn’t injured. She was cited by police for speeding.

The Taurus was removed from the scene by Shambaugh Towing.
