Teen Driver, Three Passengers Injured in Rollover Crash on Route 322

ROCKLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Four people were injured in a one-car accident that occurred around 6:19 p.m. on April 16, on State Route 322, in Rockland Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 19-year-old Daniel C. Mackie, of Oil City,
was traveling west on SR 322, and his 1998 Honda Accord traveled off the north berm of the roadway and up an embankment, causing it to roll over.

The car came to a final rest on its roof, police say.

Community Ambulance Service transported Mackie and the following passengers to UPMC Northwest for medical evaluations:

20-year-old Jessica M. Mertzeis, of St. Petersburg
21-year-old Nicholas M. Smith, of Franklin
18-year-old Shane A. Platt, of Franklin

All occupants were wearing their seat belts.

Rockland Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Minnich’s Towing.

Mackie was charged with a traffic violation.
