SUGARCREEK, Pa. – The sixth annual Venango and Forest County Teen Driving Competition will be held on Saturday, April 26, at the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department in Sugarcreek Borough.

According to Venango County Sheriff Eric Foy, the first place winner receives a $1,000.00 cash prize. The second place winner receives a $500.00 cash prize and third receives $300.00.

To be eligible to compete, students must have had their license for a year and have no moving violations.

The competition is held to promote teen driving safety. It is sponsored by the Sheriffs’ Offices in Venango and Forest counties, with support from businesses and other safety agencies.

In addition to a written safety-knowledge exam, students are judged on perceptual assessment and a driving skills test. Members of the sheriff’s office, local law enforcement officers, and other safety stakeholders serve as judges for the event.

The first and second place winners will have the opportunity to travel to the state competition in Camp Hill, Pa., in May to compete for up to $5,000.00 in scholarships.

For more information or to sign up, call the Sheriff’s office at 814-432-9563.
