Terminally Ill Area Teen’s Last Wish: Christmas Cards From Across the Globe

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A terminally ill Reynoldsville teen has a last wish for this Chrismas: cards from across the globe.

Fourteen-year-old Maddox Hyde, an 8th-grade student at DuBois Area Middle School, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer of the adrenal glands, when he was just six years old.

The Centre Daily Times reported that Maddox’s family recently found out that Maddox only has a few weeks to live.

Following the diagnosis, Maddox made a special Christmas wish: he wants to fill his house with Christmas cards.

Since Maddox made the wish, a group of organizers has created a drive through Facebook to send Maddox as many cards as possible.

According to the Friends of Maddox Facebook group, Maddox has opened 7,000 Christmas cards so far from across the nation and the globe.
