Theodore H. “Ted” Jackson, 89, of 2205 U.S. 62 Oil City, PA. , died Thursday, August 24, 2017, at UPMC-Northwest in Seneca after an accidental fire at his home.

Born August 8, 1928, in Rouseville, PA., he was the son of the late Arthur Thomas Jackson & Elsie Claire Kalbruner Jackson.

Ted was a 1946 graduate of Oil City High School.

He was drafted into the United States Army and had played football for the Army and served in England during the coronation.

Ted was married on March 4, 1950, in the Calvary United Methodist Church to the former Pearl E. “Pete” Brumbaugh and she survives.

Ted worked at Pennzoil as Maintenance Supervisor and covered a territory of five states. He oversaw gas stations., bulk plants, river barges and convenience stores.

Ted enjoyed hunting, golfing and enjoyed being outside.

Ted was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church and had served as trustee and oversaw building the elevator in the church and the educational unit. Ted was also involved with the back door cafe at the church.

He always enjoyed family and school reunions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Theodore Russell (TR) Jackson of Oil City and Sherry Lynn McClellan of Oil City; three grandchildren, Ashley Egan, Kiel Jackson, and Shannon Lee Pettit; 2 Great Grandchildren, Alexxa Ryhan Thompson and Declan Lucas Rhoads and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jordan Arthur Jackson; a grandson, Lucas Ryan McClelland and the following brothers and sisters, Robert Arthur Jackson, Harold Lewis Jackson, Milton Charles Jackson, Dorothy Elizabeth Long, Florence Alberta Brown, Myrtle Ruth Waid, Nina Francis Putnam and Kathleen Jennie Pack.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sept. 2 in the Calvary United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Fred Monk and Rev. Donald Rudge, co-presiding.

Memorials may be made to the Elevator Fund at the Calvary United Methodist Church, the Venango County Humane Society or to a charity of ones choice.
