Thomas James Sullivan, age 71, of Meadville, PA, formerly of Brookville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, in Meadville.

Tom was born on May 9, 1946, to the late John L. Sr. and Pearl I. (Kline) Sullivan, in Brookville, PA.

He attended the Brookville School District. After his time in school, he began a lifelong career working in the tree trimming industry, which included Dixon’s Tree Service in Norfolk, VA, and Geer’s Tree Service in Brookville, PA.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #983; and the Fireman’s Club, all in Brookville, PA.

Tom loved animals, but he was most especially fond of dogs.

He liked singing and music in general, with his favorites being Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash; he even liked Christmas Caroling with his family.

Tom liked being social and always enjoyed a good game of pool.

He was a Prayer Warrior, always praying for and with his family.

One of his favorite pastimes was spending being in the company of, and playing with the children in his family.

He would pick them up and watch cartoons with them whenever he had the chance.

Tom is survived by 3 sisters; Jacqueline Wachob of Cochranton, PA, Marie Wareham of New Port, NC, Irene Sullivan of Brookville, PA; 1 brother; John L. (Linda) Sullivan Jr. of Cochranton, PA; 1 brother-in-law; Clint Dempsey of Stanton, PA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by 3 sisters; Mary Ellen Sullivan, Patricia Dempsey, Felicitas Malone; and 2 brothers-in-law; Ralph Wareham and Robert Wachob.

A simple committal and burial service will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2017, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA, beginning 11:00am and officiated by Deacon Steve Rowan.

Memorial donations may be made in Tom’s name to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Rd., Falls Creek, PA, 15840. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, Ltd, of Main St., in Brookville, PA.
