Thomas L. Seigworth

| May 29, 2018

Thomas L. Seigworth, 78, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 26, 2018.

Tom was born on February 2, 1940, to the late Clem L. and Besse Irene (Shaffer) Seigworth in Strattanville, Clarion County, PA.

Tom graduated with the class of 1957 from Clarion Limestone High School.

Tom married Ella May (Winters) Seigworth, on September 20, 1957, in Clarion, PA. He worked for Rea Wholesale, WP Stahlman Coal Co., Van Steenberg Lumber Co., USDA Soil Conservation Service, and farmed on the side.

In 1981, he began farming fulltime in a partnership with his son Allan Seigworth. They owned and operated the Seigworth Farm Market where they grew vegetables, hay, and grain. They never slowed until 2011 when Tom semi-retired.

He was a member of the Brookville Church of Christ. He served as an elder for many years, taught classes at the church and never missed an opportunity to be a witness of the bible.

He was able to do anything that he watched someone else do. This allowed him to be great in the field and great on all the farming equipment.

Tom was known to talk in riddles, expecting the recipient to understand what he meant. His life and work followed the motto, it’s about doing it right.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by two children, Allan Thomas (Sue) Seigworth of Brookville, PA, and Carol Ann (Al) Emery of Brookville, PA; two sisters, Marilyn L. Fox, and Linda L. Heasley; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Patrick) Berger, Megan (Ryan) Burley, Gretchen (Adam) Raybuck, and Adam Seigworth; and five great-grandchildren, Brooke Berger, Kelsey Berger, McKenna Berger, Judson Burley, and Leena Burley.

In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by four brothers, Harold L. Seigworth, William A. Seigworth, Ronald C. Seigworth, and Richard Fredrick C. Seigworth; one sister, M. Patricia (Seigworth) Rhoads; one son, Gary Lee Seigworth; and one grandson, Justin Todd Seigworth.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Brookville Church of Christ, 20 Hughey Road, Brookville, PA. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Brookville Church of Christ and officiated by Randy Matheny. Interment will take place at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Township, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Brookville Church of Christ, 20 Hughey Rd, Brookville, PA 15825.
