Three Face Drug Charges After Probation Officer Discovers Meth, Paraphernalia in Apartment

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Three people are facing felony possession after a call from a probation officer lead State Police to find drugs and paraphernalia at a Franklin residence.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Erica Raelene Rick, of Franklin; 32-year-old Bryan Anthony Walsh, of Boardman, OH; and 25-year-old Casey Ryan McNaughton, of Oil City.

The following charges were filed against Rick, Walsh, and McNaughton in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey on Friday, June 8:

– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Felony
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, with Judge Lowrey presiding.

Details of the case

According to a criminal complaint, this incident occurred after State Probation Officer Clark called PSP Franklin requesting an officer to come to a residence in which he had found suspected drugs and paraphernalia.

Around 6:06 p.m. on December 18, 2017, Trooper Falco arrived at an apartment on Crestview Drive in Franklin. Upon arrival, he met with Agent Clark.

According to the complaint, Trooper Falco entered the residence and observed three individuals sitting in the living room: Erica Rick, Bryan Walsh, and Casey McNaughton.

The complaint states that the following items were observed in plain view:

– A glass smoking device with orange liquid inside it on a coffee table;
– Two small red straws;
– A round glass mirror;
– Green wire;
– A cut plastic Mentos container;
– A glass vial with lid; and
– A brown ceramic container with a lid.

The complaint states that all of the items had white residue on them. There was also a clear plastic container with a brown substance in it on the table. A black digital scale was located on the floor beside the coffee table.

All of the items were collected and sent to the PSP Crime lab for testing. The lab results indicated a positive test result for methamphetamine (schedule II) and THC (schedule I), according to the complaint.
