CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Three people are facing theft-related charges after allegedly stealing a motorcycle and selling it for scrap.

Court documents indicate the Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 22-year-old Brian Scott Detrick and 26-year-old Amber Lynn Stephens, both of Clarion, and 38-year-old James Charles Zoodie, of Stoystown.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:47 p.m. on April 9, Trooper Jarrett was dispatched to a reported theft at a location on Lawn Drive in Knox Township, Lucinda.

Trooper Jarrett made contact with the victim who stated that he had been out of the area for a few days, and when he returned home that day, he noticed that a motorcycle he had parked in his garage was missing along with a junk vehicle that was on the property. The victim said the junk vehicle belonged to Brian Scott Detrick.

A witness gave information that Detrick and his girlfriend, Amber Lynn Stephens, were seen loading the junk vehicle and the motorcycle onto a trailer and truck driven by James Charles Zoodie.

According to the complaint, Detrick and Stephens told Trooper Jarrett that they removed the junk vehicle from the property, but they did not know anything about the motorcycle.

Trooper Jarrett then made contact with Zoodie who stated that Stephens contacted him via Facebook on April 8, and Stephens and Detrick made arrangements with him to scrap a vehicle and a motorcycle in exchange for money, according to the complaint.

Zoodie supplied Trooper Jarrett with screenshots of the Facebook messenger conversation. The messages clearly indicate Detrick and Stephens intended to steal the motorcycle and that Zoodie was aware there was no title present for the motorcycle, the complaint states.

The complaint also indicates that Zoodie stated he did junk the motorcycle and received money for it.

Based on the investigation, Detrick and Stephens were arraigned on Saturday, July 21, in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office on the following charge:

– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 3

Unable to post $5,000.00 monetary bail, Detrick was lodged in the Clarion County Jail from July 21 to July 24. On July 24, Detrick’s bail was changed from monetary to unsecured following an agreement between the defense and the prosecution.

Stephens is also free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

Detrick and Stephens are scheduled to stand for preliminary hearings at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, with Judge Schill presiding.

One count of third-degree felony Receiving Stolen Property was filed against Zoodie in Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill’s office on Thursday, July 19.

Zoodie is awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
