Three-Vehicle Crash on Route 322 Sends One to Hospital

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police said the accident happened around 3:37 p.m. on U.S. Route 322 near its intersection with Green Acres.

According to police, Ronald Ziegler, 60, of Franklin, was traveling east on U.S. Route 322 when he attempted to make a left turn into his driveway; however, Ziegler stopped with the rear portion of his vehicle still on the roadway.

A vehicle traveling west on U.S. Route 322, operated by David McNamara, 63, of West Middlesex, had to stop abruptly stop, causing another westbound vehicle operated by Ashley Donato, 32, of Kennerdell, to swerve off the roadway and strike Ziegler’s vehicle.

An unnamed passenger in Ziegler’s vehicle was transported to UMPC Northwest for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

All vehicles sustained moderate damage and were able to be driven from the scene.

Community Ambulance, Lowry’s Towing and the Seneca VFD also responded.
