Four Injured in Route 8 Crash

AmbulanceSANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to Franklin-based State Police, a three-vehicle crash occurred on Route 8, Sandycreek Twp., Venango Co., Pa.

Police say the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. on July 6, 2012, as a 2005 Chevrolet Astro driven by 18-year-old Nicholas A. Elslager of Seneca, Pa., was traveling north on Route 8 in the left lane.

According to police, a 2003 Ford Escape driven by 31-year-old April J. Morrow of Polk, Pa., was stopped in the left lane with its turn signal on waiting to turn left.

Police say a third vehicle, a 1997 Buick Regal, driven by 24-year-old Amanda D. Drayer of Franklin, Pa., was traveling south on Route 8.

Elslager failed to stop his vehicle and struck Morrow’s vehicle; upon being struck, Morrow’s vehicle traveled approximately 100 yards north on Route 8 and crossed into the right lane of Route 8 before stopping.

Then, Elslager crossed the center lane into the southbound lane of Route 8 causing Drayer’s vehicle to spin out of control and cross the two northbound lanes and subsequently strike a tree.

Police reported that all people involved received minor injuries, including a passenger in April Morrow’s vehicle, Joyce Morrow of Polk, Pa.

Elslager was charged with careless driving.

Sandycreek Twp. Volunteer Fire Department fire and police assisted at the scene with clean up and traffic control.
