Tionesta Man Charged with Rape After Police Discover Evidence in His Residence

mark-delo-triangle[1]WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Tionesta man is facing rape charges following an incident that allegedly occurred on November 12 on Amsler Lane, in Washington Township, Clarion County.

According to court documents, Marienville-based State Police arrested 32-year-old Mark Daniel Deloe, of Tionesta, on three felony charges that include rape, aggravated indecent assault, and criminal attempt-aggravated indecent assault.

According to a criminal complaint, around 10:30 a.m. on November 12, Officer Weaver, of PSP Marienville, interviewed an alleged sexual assault victim at the Clarion Hospital.

The complaint states the victim related that between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. she contacted Deloe via telephone to get her car keys and other items.

The complaint indicates that the victim arrived at the residence at 9:50 a.m. and was met by Deloe. She and Deloe entered the residence and proceeded to the bedroom to get the car keys.

Deloe allegedly held the victim on the bed, with his forearm onto her neck/jaw area. He then allegedly tore the victim’s underwear off her body and allegedly raped her, the complaint continues.

The victim allegedly fought to get free and left the residence without her underwear, according to the complaint.

A search warrant was executed on the residence on November 12 and a pair of torn underwear were located, the complaint states.

Based on the investigation, Officer Weaver requested a warrant of arrest be issued for Deloe.

Deloe was arraigned at 7:30 p.m. on November 12 in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill.

He faces the following charges:

  • Rape Forcible Compulsion, Felony 1
  • Aggravated Indecent Assault W/O Consent, Felony 2
  • Criminal Attempt – Aggravated Indecent Assault W/O Consent, Felony 2
  • Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.

    A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on November 24 with Judge Schill presiding.
