FULTON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — A Forest County man was killed in a dirt bike crash Friday afternoon in Licking Creek Township, Fulton County.

Thorn A. Pittman, 18, of Tionesta, was traveling north and attempting to negotiate a curve on Creek Road when he lost control of his Yamaha dirt bike, according to state police.

The bike traveled over an embankment at a high rate of speed and went airborne before crashing into several trees, state police said.

Pittman was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:25 p.m. by the Fulton County Coroner.

State police say speed was a factor in the crash.

Pittman was not wearing a helmet.

Pittman, a native of McConnellsburg, Pa., recently graduated from the Taylor Diversion Program in Tionesta and planned to attend UTI Technical School on a diesel mechanics scholarship.
