OAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Titusville woman was rushed to a local hospital following a crash on Thursday night on State Route 8 in Oakland Township.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 9:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 76-year-old Judy M. Copley, of Titusville, was operating a 2013 Jeep Larado, traveling south on State Route 8, just south of Kaneville Road in Oakland Township, Venango County.

Police say Copley failed to properly negotiate a left curve in the road, and the vehicle traveled off the right edge of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned onto its driver’s side.

Following the initial impact, the vehicle continued sliding and rotating on its driver’s side until it struck the embankment again and returned to its wheels, coming to rest in an upright position, blocking the southbound lane.

Copley suffered injuries of unknown severity and was transported to Titusville Hospital by Cornplanter Volunteer Ambulance Service.

She was using a seat belt.

Community Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.

Copley was charged with a traffic violation.
