OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – The 40th annual Oil Heritage Festival is currently underway in Oil City with many popular activities planned for today.
Thursday’s events:
9:00 a.m. — Oil Heritage Festival Junior Olympics, Oil City High School Track
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. — The Oil City Farmers Market at the Central Avenue Plaza
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. — The Friends of the Library Book Sale, Christ Episcopal Church
11:00 a.m. — The Venango Chamber’s annual golf scramble
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. — YWCA Spaghetti Supper
Tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages four to twelve (children three and under are free), can be purchased at the YWCA or at Festival Headquarters. Take-outs will be available, and there will be a drive-through pick-up available at the back of the building.
5:15 p.m. — The Children’s Parade (line up at 5:00 p.m.)
It begins at the Free Methodist Church of Oil City and goes to Central Avenue Plaza.
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. — Children’s Fun Fair, Central Avenue Plaza
It includes free games and crafts for children preschool through 6th grade. The rain location for the Fun Fair is the Oil City YMCA.
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. — FLEX Ice Cream Social, Central Avenue Plaza
The rain location for the Ice Cream Social will be the Grace United Methodist Church.
7:30 p.m. — Oil Heritage Festival Queen Crowning, Central Avenue Plaza
The rain location will be the Grace United Methodist Church.
8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. — Concert featuring Echo Valley, Central Avenue Plaza
Other events today include the Oil Heritage Art Shows, the St. Stephen Church Heritage Festival, and the Oil City Front Porch Contest.
