CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – A toddler was found wandering near 5th Avenue in Clarion on Friday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, witnesses spotted the girl running across 5th Avenue in front of traffic. An oncoming motorist stopped and contacted Clarion-based state police.

Witnesses also spotted the girl, believed to be 2 or 3-years-old, inside Comet grocery store and “running around” the store’s parking lot.

According to sources, police arrived on the scene and contacted Clarion County Child & Youth Services, who took her into protective custody.

It is believed that the girl lived at Woodland Trailer Park nearby.

A representative from Clarion-based state police declined to comment and said that no information would be released to the public.
