According to a representative of Venango County 911, the call came in at 4:00 a.m. for a tractor-trailer on its side.

The accident happened just past the rest area.

Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, Superior Ambulance Service, and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.

The Cochranton-based tractor-trailer entered I-80 after fueling at the Barkeyville exit, and as the driver entered a turn, he “lost his headlights and couldn’t see where he was on the roadway.” His vehicle went off the roadway and overturned.

He was hauling a load of plastic, and the spillage occurred off the roadway.

The driver was not injured.

The scene was cleared around 5:30 a.m.; however, cleanup will begin during daylight hours.

Delays are expected in that area while the load is being cleared from the scene.
