| December 31, 2018

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Police in Oil City say a traffic stop on Wednesday resulted in a drug-related arrest.

Around 7:22 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26, officers of the Oil City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on East Seventh Street Alley on a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck that was known to have suspended registration due to the cancelation of insurance.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Josh Waters, Oil City, was found to be operating while suspended, DUI-related. Waters and a male passenger were then informed the vehicle would need to be towed.

Police say while waiting for the towing company, Oil City Police Officers observed, in plain view, drug paraphernalia inside of the truck.

A search warrant was then applied for and granted and a search of the vehicle resulted in additional drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance being discovered.

Charges are pending further investigation.
