Traffic Stop Results in Drug Arrest in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin Police say around 8:45 p.m. on October 30, 2012, a Cooperstown man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Bell Avenue in Franklin, Venango County, Pa.

According to police, 23-year-old Ryan Patrick Advent of Cooperstown was stopped for a traffic violation, and a check for warrants on him and a passenger resulted in Advent being arrested on a bench warrant.

He was transferred to Venango County Jail.

During further questioning of Advent, multiple drug violations were discovered, according to police.

Police say the drug investigation that followed resulted in the seizure of approximately 30 grams of marijuana, scales, packaging supplies, and various other drug paraphernalia.

Advent has been charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute and multiple other drug violations with further charges pending the completion of the investigation.

Advent is lodged in the Venango County Jail awaiting summons.
