Two-Car Crash on US 322; One Person Injured

CANAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin State Police say a two-car accident occurred in Canal Township, Venango County, Pa.

According to police, around 12:48 p.m. on October 18, 2012, 27-year-old Matthew D. King of Cochranton and 52-year-old Richard A. Casper of Cambridge Springs were involved in a two-car accident on US 322 at its intersection with Foster Road.

Police say the crash happened as Casper was traveling on US 322 in a 2012 Dodge Ram and was initiating a left hand turn onto Foster Road.

According to police, King attempted to pass in a 2003 GMC Sierra, even though it is a no passing zone.

King subsequently struck the side of Casper’s vehicle.

Casper was wearing his seat belt and received minor injuries; he was transported to Meadville Medical Center.

King was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

He was cited for passing in a no passing zone.
