ambulanceCRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say around 11:52 a.m. on August 1, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 322, at its intersection with Maple Shade Road, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, 20-year-old Joseph R. Carpenter, of Emlenton, and 55-year-old Morris E. Sanner, of Cranberry, were involved in the collision.

Police say Carpenter was traveling east on SR 322, and he failed to stop his 1998 Chevrolet K2500 in time as he approached a 2010 Subaru Forester – driven by Sanner – waiting for thru-traffic to make a left turn onto Maple Shade Road.

The Chevrolet impacted the Subaru on the left rear with its right front in the eastbound lane of SR 322. Both vehicles were then moved to the side of the road, according to police.

Carpenter was not injured.

Sanner suffered minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Northwest.

A passenger in Sanner’s vehicle – a 17-year-old Cranberry female – also suffered minor injuries.

All occupants involved in the collision were using seat belts, police say.

Carpenter was charged with a traffic violation.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
