Two Injured in Sandycreek Twp. Hit-and-Run Crash

SANDYCREEK TOWNSHIP. Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a one-vehicle crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. on January 26, in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

According to police, Clifford W. Wright Jr., 31, of Youngstown, Oh., and passenger Krystal D. Sheffer, 26, of Franklin, were traveling south in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe on Congress Hill Road when they failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The vehicle crossed the centerline and across the northbound lane and struck two road signs mounted on dual posts, which are property of PennDOT.

Wright then fled the scene and failed to make proper notification to the owner of the damaged property, according to police.

Both occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries of unknown severity.

It is not known if either was wearing a seat belt.

Upon further investigation, it was determined the driver was not insured, and as a result, charges were filed against the vehicle’s owner, Terence Wesley Parker.
