Two Jailed in Connection with 2015 Theft

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Sugarcreek Police report two men have been arrested in connection with a 2015 Theft incident.

Police arrested 29-year-old Shawn Goodman, of Oil City, and 24-year-old Joshua Sjoden, of Oil City.

According to police, on September 20, 2015, Goodman and Sjoden conspired to steal a safe located at a residence on Shaffer Run Road in Oil City. The safe contained a large amount of cash, coins, and a handgun.

Both were arraigned before Judge Patrick Lowrey and remanded to the Venango County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Goodman faces the following charges:

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking — Movable Property, Felony
  • Receiving Stolen Property, Felony
  • Person Not to Possess/Use Firearms, Felony

Sjoden faces the following charges:

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking — Movable Property, Felony
  • Theft by Unlawful Taking — Movable Property, Felony

Goodman and Sjoden are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 17, 2015 with Judge Patrick Lowrey.
