Felony Charges Filed After Men Allegedly Take Turns Punching, Kicking OC Woman in Face

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Two men are facing aggravated assault and related charges after a known woman was allegedly assaulted by multiple individuals on East Third Street, in Oil City, Venango County.

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:30 p.m. on October 26, Oil City Police were dispatched to East Third Street for a female assault victim.

The complaint states “the victim had a visible swelling and injuries to her face and was crying and distraught. She said her ex-boyfriend and multiple others just jumped her in the alley when she was on her way to the store. She told police she only knew who a couple of the individuals were.”

“The victim named her ex-boyfriend Charles ‘Chuck’ Stroup, his brother Zackery Stroup,” and another known man, according to the complaint.

“The victim told police Chuck Stroup grabbed her in a bear hug while two unidentified females ran up and started punching her. She said they all took turns punching and kicking her in the face.”

She stated that when they were done assaulting her, they took her iPhone 4 and $10.00 and walked up the hill.”

The victim traveled to UPMC Northwest for her injuries.

According to the complaint, “the victim reported that she suffered a broken nose and a broken orbital bone from the assault.”

Based on the above information, police issued warrants for 20-year-old Charles W. Stroup, of Oil City, and 22-year-old Zachery Dillen Stroup, of Corry.

Charles W. Stroup faces the following charges:

– Aggravated Assault, Felony 1
– Robbery-Inflict Serious Bodily Injury, Felony 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Theft By Unlaw Taking-Movable Prop, Misdemeanor 2
– Conspiracy — Aggravated Assault, Felony 1

Charles Stroup is awaiting a preliminary hearing.

Zachery Dillen Stroup faces the following offenses:

– Aggravated Assault, Felony 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Conspiracy — Aggravated Assault, Felony 1

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Zachery Stroup on January 14, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas I. Dinberg.

No other information has been released.
