CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Two men are facing theft-related charges after stolen pieces of equipment were recovered by authorities.

According to court documents, 29-year-old John Patrick Alexander, Jr., of Lamartine, and 47-year-old Lawrence R. Rihn, of Emlenton, were arrested on two separate theft incidents.

Police Recover Stolen Kubota Tractor

According to a criminal complaint filed by Knox Borough Police Chief Jason Bowen, sometime between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on April 17, Alexander allegedly drove Rihn to 811 Petrolia Street in Knox Borough when Rihn accessed a 2004 orange Kubuta tractor with two attachments, a front loader backhoe and a 60 inch mower deck valued at $15,000.00.

The complaint indicates that Rihn allegedly used a Kubota key that Alexander allegedly stole from one of Terry Kahle’s tractors in previous weeks.

Alexander and Rihn allegedly proceeded to Rihn’s residence, and Rihn allegedly parked the Kubota in a “shanny” behind his residence, the complaint continues.

Rihn allegedly stated that the reason he stole the Kubota tractor was because he had septic work that needed done at his residence, and a friend of his advised him that he would do the work if he got a Kubota, the complaint states.

Knox Borough Police were assisted by Emlenton Police Department and Clarion-based State Police.

Toro Wheelhorse Riding Mower Recovered

According to a criminal complaint, around 9:31 a.m. on April 23, Trooper Allison, of PSP Clarion, conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F150 pickup traveling west on State Route 58, in front of Allegheny Clarion Valley Schools, in Richland Township, Clarion County.

The complaint indicates that the vehicle driven by Alexander was towing an unregistered trailer, loaded with a Toro Wheelhorse riding mower.

The complaint states that on the previous day, Trooper Allison had a conversation with Terry Kahle concerning a stolen Toro Wheelhorse matching the description of the mower that Alexander was hauling.

Trooper Allison asked Alexander where he obtained the riding mower, and Alexander allegedly related that he purchased the mower from Larry Rihn (aka Lawrence Rihn), the complaint continues.

Kahle came to the scene and identified the Toro Wheelhorse mower that was in Alexander’s possession as the one stolen last year from his lot, according to the complaint.
