CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say two individuals were transported to UPMC Northwest following a crash along State Route 157 in Cranberry Township Thursday evening.

According to police, around 6:52 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 70-year-old Ann M. Mathews of Cranberry was operating a 2017 Jeep Latitude, traveling east on State Route 157 just east of Melat Lane in Cranberry Township.

Police say Mathews was traveling east on State Route 157 when she lost control of the vehicle as it began to slide. After spinning in a circle, the vehicle left the roadway and traveled onto an embankment before it rolled onto its driver’s side.

Mathews and her passenger, 74-year-old Ronald E. Mathews, also of Cranberry, were wearing seat belts and the curtain airbags deployed on both sides.

A. Mathews and R. Mathews were both taken to UPMC Northwest via Community Ambulance for possible injuries.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department assisted with helping the driver and passenger out of the vehicle, as well as with traffic control.

Minich’s Towing towed the vehicle from the scene.
