CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred on September 29 on State Route 208, north of Millerstown Road, in Elk Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 7:49 a.m., a 2014 Dodge Ram — driven by 60-year-old Calvin Dinger, of Seneca — was traveling southbound on Route 208, pulling off the road up to a mailbox to deliver mail.

As the Dodge was slowing, a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu — driven by 72-year-old John L. Baker, of Tionesta — also traveling southbound on Route 208, struck the Dodge in its 7 o’clock position, police say.

The Dodge Ram came to a final rest at the mailbox.

The Chevrolet Malibu came to a final rest approximately 10 feet from the initial impact situated broadside across the southbound lane, according to police.

Shippenville EMS transported Dinger to UPMC for suspected minor injuries. He was using a seat belt.

Baker was using a seat belt and was not injured.

No other information was provided.
