UPDATE: Additional Details Released on Motorcycle Crash That Killed Seneca Man, Shippenville Woman

SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities in Clarion County have released additional details on the fatalities in the car vs. motorcycle crash that occurred Monday night on State Route 66 in Paint Township.

Clarion-based State Police said the accident happened around 7:25 p.m. on State Route 66 at its intersection with Wisner Road in the area of Route 66 Sporting Goods.

A vehicle operated by Tyler O. Schwabenbauer, 19, of Franklin, was traveling southbound on Route 66. A motorcycle operated by Jared J. Felmlee, 37, of Seneca, was traveling north on Route 66, and Schwabenbauer proceeded to make a left turn onto Wisner Road, striking the motorcycle, according to police.

According to Clarion County Coroner Randall Stom, Felmlee and Barbra S. Burkhardt, 35, of Shippenville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsies on both victims were completed on Tuesday in Erie by Dr. Eric Vey, a forensic pathologist with the Erie County Coroner’s Office. The autopsy report indicates that Felmlee died as a result of blunt force trauma to the trunk and extremities and Burkhardt died as a result of blunt force trauma to the trunk.

Schwabenbauer and a 17-year-old female passenger from Hawthorn escaped serious injury.

The roadway was closed for approximately four hours.

It reopened around 11:35 p.m. on Monday, according to a representative from Clarion County Department of Public Safety.

Shippenville-Elk Volunteer Fire Department along with Shippenville Ambulance assisted the state police on the scene.

Stat MedEvac was originally dispatched but was canceled shortly after the paramedics arrived.
