ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. — Sources say five people died in a head-on crash which occurred around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in South Bend, Armstrong County.

According to a published article in wtae.com, another person has died as a result of the crash on Route 156 near Gobblers Run Road.

Authorities said three teens in a 2003 Ford Mustang GT were killed in the accident:

– 19-year-old Brandon James Sulav, of Apollo, the driver of the vehicle;
– 18-year-old Brieyonah Marie Painter, of Kittanning;
– 15-year-old Brandon Sauers, of Apollo.

The coroner pronounced the teens dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Cheverolet Lumina, 41-year-old Crystal Kay Kelley, of Avonmore, and a passenger 34-year-old Kent G. Smith, of Elderton, were also killed.

Ms. Kelley was also pronounced dead at the scene. Kent G. Smith was transport to UPMC Presbyterian hospital but was later pronounced dead as a result of the crash.

Two passengers in Ms. Kelley’s vehicle were also transported to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of major injuries:

– 33-year-old Robert Edward Kelley Jr., of Avonmore (Ms. Kelley’s husband);
– 35-year-old Kristy Ann Schall, of Shelocta

According to sources, police believe Sulava was speeding when he lost control of his Ford Mustang, and it slid sideways into Kelley’s Cheverolet Lumina that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The crash remains under investigation.
