UPDATE: Exit 64 On-Ramp Re-Opens Following Tractor Trailer Crash

10796401936_1D4A5084CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – The Interstate 80 exit 64 on-ramp re-opened on Friday after being shut down for several hours following an accident involving two tractor trailers.

The accident resulted in a brief closure of Interstate 80 westbound near exit 64 and a much longer closure of the exit’s on-ramp.

Interstate 80 westbound was shut down at exit 64 on Thursday around 3:40 p.m. and re-opened around 4:22 p.m. Traffic was diverted around the crash via the westbound off- and on-ramps at exit 64.

Clarion Fire & Hose Company No. 1 and Clarion Hospital EMS were dispatched to the scene. Strattanville Volunteer Fire Company assisted with traffic control approaching the accident at Exit 70.

The westbound on-ramp remained closed until Friday evening when Bauer Truck Repair finished removing the wreckage.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

State Police in Clarion are expected to release additional information within the next 48 hours.
